Obituary of Domingo L. Mendoza Sr.
Domingo L. Mendoza, Sr., surrounded by his family, was released from his earthly bonds into the Heavens, to be with our Heavenly Father on January 2, 2018 at the age of 82 yrs. Born March 31,1935 in San Marcos, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Domingo is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Guadalupe P. Mendoza, parents: Jose and Antonina Mendoza, grandson: Ronnie Mendoza, great grandchild: Angel Rangel, brothers: Raymond, Fred, Frank, Joe and John Mendoza, and sisters: Paula Aguilar, Lydia Calderon and Anna Teneyuque.
For 38 years, Mingo (as his friends called him) worked for Wide Lite as a welder until his retirement in 2000. Dad and Grandpa (as those that loved him called him), loved to spend time outdoors. He spent his retired years entertaining his family, which almost always included his legendary barbecue. His “gritos” are unforgettable and will be remembered not just by family, but by his friends and the staff at the nursing home. His nicknames for some of us will carry us through our lifetime. Dad also loved to relax and surround himself with family .He especially enjoyed watching WWE wrestling with his grandchildren and his beloved Dallas Cowboys with the rest of the family. We love our Dad and we will miss him dearly, as we do our mother (Guadalupe) who preceded him in death. But fortunately for us, they instilled a strong faith in us. We believe that when he was received in heaven, our mother was the first to greet him with open arms, and he is now at rest in the kingdom that awaits all of us of faith. Our hearts are full and his legacy will continue through us.
His life continues through his children: Daughter: Nelda Mendoza-Natal ( Dora), sons: Domingo Mendoza Jr.( Susie), Victor Mendoza Sr. (Gracie), Roy Mendoza Sr.( Nelda), brother: Marcelino Mendoza, sisters: Guadalupe Luna, Augustina Villa and Mary Ann Gaitan, grandchildren: Domingo III, Eric, Isaac, Karen, Vic, Lisa, Lori, Josh, and Autumn, great grandchildren: Matthew, Jacob, Lucas, Zerick, Zander, Mitchell, Rainey, Mia, Arianna, Ivan, Trey, Illianna, Marcos, Josiah, Jaden, Jordan, Diego, and Anellie, great great grandchild: Brody and with numerous nieces & nephews.
