Our beloved Francisco Cortez, age 79, resident of San Marcos was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 24, 2016.
Francisco was preceded in death by his son, Alfredo Cortez; parents, Ponciano Sr. & Rosa Cortez; brothers, Ponciano Jr. and Gregorio Cortez Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Amelia Zamora Cortez; sons, Francisco Cortez Jr. and wife Connie, Antonio “Tony” Cortez and partner Rick Jones, and Gilbert Cortez and wife Jennifer; daughters, Mary Alice Cortez and Willie Burleson, Patricia Prado and husband Adolfo, Gloria OrtizDeOrue and husband Walter, and Yolanda Barrientos; sister, Josephine Betancourt; and 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Recitation of Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30am. Thursday, January 5, 2017, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 87 Lockhart St.in Martindale, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am, Burial will follow at San Juan Cemetery, Reedville, Texas.
