Obituary of Vicenta Hernandez Ruiz

Our beloved Vicenta Hernandez Ruiz, age 80, resident of San Marcos was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Encarnacion Ruiz; parents, Galvino & Juanita Hernandez.

Vicenta was a caring, loving and very smart business woman. She successfully opened and operated La Palma Grocery Store for well over 35yrs.. She was an avid church goer and dedicated member of the  Sociadad Guadalupanas.   She enjoyed relaxing at home knitting while watching her favorite novelas.  Cooking and making gatherings special for her family were top priority.. Nothing meant more to her than her family, especially the grand and great grandchildren.  We thank the Lord for giving her to us for as long as we had her ... "we love you!" Her legacy and spirit, will always continue through us, we will miss you, but will never be forgotten in our hearts.   

She is survived by her son, Francisco Ruiz & wife JoAnn; grandchildren, Christopher Galvan, Kathy Galvan, and Federico Ruiz; great grandchildren, Aliya Solis, Kaelyn Galvan, and Ava Galvan; brothers, Manuel Hernandez, and Crespin Hernandez;, and with numerous cousins, and other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 3:00p.m.– 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 with  Evening Visitation to begin from 6:00pm-9:00pm with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., at St. John Catholic Church,…. 624 Hopkins St. … San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at St. John Catholic Church. Rev. Father Jairo Lopez will officiate.  Interment will follow at San Pablo Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas.

Serving as Pall Bearers: Christopher Galvan, Federico Ruiz, Johnny Hernandez, Luis Manuel Hernandez, Fred Dominguez, and Danny Galvan.
