Obituary of Pablo Hernandez Sr.

Our beloved Pablo Hernandez Sr., age 93, resident of San Marcos was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Refugio & Feliciana Hernandez; son: Rufus Hernandez; daughter, Gloria Villanueva; granddaughter, Barbie Martinez; brothers; Manuel Hernandez Sr., Guillermo Hernandez Sr., & Felimon Hernandez Sr.; and sister, Beatriz Lopez.

Pablo was a fun loving man with many stories to tell.  He loved to dance conjunto music and there was always a line of granddaughters, nieces, cousins, and sisters in line to dance with him.  On a hot summer day, Pablo loved to sit on the porch and listen to music and occasionally drink a bud light or a glass of red wine.  He also loved watching baseball and wrestling in the evenings on T.V.  Pablo was also an active member ot St. John's Catholic Church where he was a  past member of  Knights of Columbus, Santo Nombre, Coro Mariachi, Cursillistas and would volunteer with the Jamicas... But  nothoing meant more to him than his pride and joy his lovely wife, Janie, of 65yrs.  We thank the Lord for giving him to us for as long as we had him..."we love you!" His legacy and spirit , will always continue through us, we will miss you, but will  never be forgotten in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife of 65yrs., Janie Hernandez; sons, Pablo "Paul" Hernandez Jr., Miguel Hernandez; daughters, Diana Rodriguez & husband Raul, Vera Tovar, & Maria Dolores Lopez;  sisters, Carmen Hernandez, and Ofelia Rodriguez; grandchildren, 13; great grandchildren, 23, and other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 6:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., at the St. John Catholic Church on 624 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at St. John Catholic Church…. Rev. Father Jairo Lopez will officiate.  Interment will follow in Guadalupe Cemetery in San Marcos, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers: Miguel Rufus Hernandez, Eddie Villanueva Jr., John Paul Lopez, Peter Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, and Fernando Hernandez.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Elias Hernandez, Emilio Hernandez, Carlos Rodriguez, Joe Hernandez, George Hernandez, and Mario Rodriguez.
