Obituary of Antonio Lopez Castillo
Our beloved Antonio “Tony” Lopez Castillo, age 68, resident of San Marcos was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 35yrs., Teresa J. Castillo; parents, Sabino Sr. & Josefa Castillo; brothers, Pedro Castillo, Ramon Castillo, Guadalupe Castillo, and Daniel Castillo; sisters, Janie C. Tristan, and Josie C. Saldana.
Tony joined the US Marines in November 1969 and proudly served our country for 4 ½ years during Viet Nam. He later became an Investigator for the AG office for 15yrs. His favorite past time, “Fishing”, whether on the side of a river bank, at the lake, or on the gulf. When relaxing, Tony enjoyed watching sports, Long Horn Football being his favorite. He enjoyed cooking, whether it being indoors or outdoors, he made gatherings very special for his family. Tony also loved taking trips to San Juan, Texas to spend time at the church. In his younger years he loved running long distance and always loved telling his story of what a great runner he was. We thank the Lord for giving him to us for as long as we had him..."we love you!" His legacy and spirit, will always continue through us, we will miss you, but will never be forgotten in our hearts.
He is survived by his brothers, Sabino Castillo Jr., John Castillo, Roberto Castillo, and Michael Castillo; step daughter, Diana Edwards; grandchildren, Nicolas Edwards, and Quenton Edwards; great grandson, Quenton Edwards II, and other loving family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., at the Los Angeles Funeral Home … 300 Cheatham St. … San Marcos, Texas. Morning Visitation will begin at 8:30am, Friday, June 15, 2018 at San Michael’s Catholic Church … 80 S. Old Spanish Trail … Uhland, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. … Rev. Father Rafael Padilla will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Community Cemetery in Uhland, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers: Nicolas Edwards, Quenton Edwards, Paul Valdez, Rick Castillo, Chris Castillo, and Jimmy Tristan.
