Obituary of Brian Thomas Ashby

Please share a memory of Brian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Brian Thomas Ashby, age 42 of San Marcos, Texas passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Kyle, Texas on June 4, 2019. Brian was born December 18, 1976, in Stephenville, Texas, to Patsy Oaks, who raised Brian in Marble Falls along with his brother Bo Oaks and sister Lacy Iakovakis. Patsy instilled many values into Brian, the most important being family. Brian married the love of his life and his best friend Nicole Walters on June 17, 2000, in Kyle, Texas. They spent nineteen years together building a life, a legacy, and a family. Brian had the privilege of being the father of three perfect daddy's girls. Allyssa Lee, his right hand woman, his twin in every way, and partner in crime, made him a daddy on January 9, 2002. Brianna Nicole, his namesake, his comedian, and most importantly his "wobble wobble," made him a father of two on August 26, 2003. Chelsea Dawn, his warrior, his princess, and most importantly his "baby girl," made him a proud father of three on November 27, 2009.

Brian’s daughters were his life and greatest achievement, and they will carry on his legacy.

Brian loved working with his hands, building things and making metal art. He loved Longhorn football, family vacations to the beach, fishing with his girls, and working on his '55 Chevy pickup "ol knuckles."

Brian spent the last ten years at Thermon, starting from the bottom and working his way up to supervisor. He was a hard worker who loved learning new things and was always up for a challenge. He gave 200% of himself to everything he did in his life, making sure the finest detail was perfect, which was his signature on his masterpiece. Brian was the life of the party; everywhere he went, his smile lit up the room. His laugh was contagious and, paired with a one of a kind personality, was exactly what you needed in that moment. Brian had the biggest heart any man could have. He would drop anything to help out someone in need. He was always working on someone’s car or unlocking a door because they locked their keys in it. Brian volunteered at kids’ events every year and made it a family event. Brian lived a short life but very meaningful life. Brian will be greatly missed by all who loved him, and his memory will carry on through them. We celebrate the extraordinary man Brian was and how much he impacted our lives for the better.
