Obituary of Alva Landrum Hill Jr.

Alva Landrum Hill, Jr. “Sonny/Papa” graduated to heaven on July 1, 2019 peacefully at his home in San Marcos, TX. surrounded by his family

Alva is predeceased by his parents Alva L. Hill, Sr. and Margaret Yott Hill, his daughter Lori Ann Cooper, his grandson Casey Ray Self.

Alva is survived by his loving wife Kay B Hill of 59 years. They were married in Miami, FL. in 1960.

Alva is remembered by his son Alva L Hill, III “Lanny” of Allen, TX.; Grandsons Josh Self of Prosper, TX., Jacob Self of Howe, TX., and Beau Hill of Allen, TX.; Great Grand Children Chloe and Luke Self of Howe, TX.

Alva was born in Miami, FL. January 7, 1936. He graduated from Miami Jackson  Senior HS and attended the University of Florida before entering the US Naval Reserves in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1967.

Alva loved volunteering and helping others, hunting and the outdoors, traveling with his wife, telling stories and jokes, spending time with family, visiting friends at the Wimberley HEB, and most of all sharing his faith and the word of God with others.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30am August 3, 2019 at the Genesis Church of Canyon Lake 10465 FM 2673 Canyon Lake, TX. 78133
