Obituary of Maria de la Luz Martinez

Our beloved Maria de la Luz Martinez, age 77, resident of Buda, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 6, 2019. 

She is preceded in death by her parents: Pascual & Carmen Avila; brothers: Pascual Avila, Mario Avila, and Ramon Avila.

She is survived by her loving husband of 31yrs., Jose Valentin Martinez; sons, Cesar Alberto Avila, Alejandro Olguin Avila, and Arnulfo Hernandez; daughters, Lucy Hernandez, Patricia “Patty” Santoyo, Solidad del Carmen Holguin, Norma Sobeida Avila Payan, Berta Hernandez, Guadalupe Cervantez, Julia Bermudez, Raquel Hernandez, and Virginia Granadoz; brothers, Arnoldo Avila, Jose Luis Avila, and Alonso Avila; sisters, Patiricia Perry, Carmen Ortiz, Isabel Terrazas, Blanca Avila, and Dora Avila; grandchildren, 51; great grandchildren, 56; and with many more loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Los Angeles Funeral Home, 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m.,  Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at St. John’s Catholic Church … 624 E. Hopkins …  San Marcos, Texas.  Rev. Father Jairo Lopez will officiate. Private Memorial Service to be celebrated at a later date.
