Obituary of Antonio Contreras

Our beloved Antonio Contreras, age 85, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

He is preceded in death by, Juan Contreras who raised him.  

Antonio was a lifelong resident of San Marcos, In Antonio’s younger days, he loved to ride his motorcycle, hunt and go dancing to Tejano music. He also loved his Chevy Luv pick-up truck with its shiny wheels and tires. As time went on, he found his niche in making new furniture and working as a handyman (a true jack of all trades) and he became a rancher. Free time was special to Antonio. He enjoyed going to Canyon Lake with family and friends and taking the occasional family trip to San Juan to visit the Catholic Church. Later in life he was blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, Kayla and Kelsey Contreras.

He is survived by his wife of 65yrs., Frances Contreras; daughter, Mary Ann Contreras; son, Antonio Contreras Jr. and wife Kathy; granddaughters, Kayla Contreras & Kelsey Contreras; half – sisters, Rosa H. Castillo, Carmen H. Fernandez, Beatrice H. Olvera, Teresa H. Pimentel, and Angaline H. Ramos; half - brother, Jesse Huerta; and with many more loving family and friends.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church … 624 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas.   Rev. Father Jairo Lopez will officiate.  Private Memorial Services to be celebrated at a later date.
