I grew up with my cousin, Lupe. I lived with my grandmother, Benita De Leon, in San Marcos, out in the country. I remember he and his dad coming over to visit my grandma and she would always have food for them. When other cousins and Lupe would come around, I remember us playing outside: running around, chasing each other and playing ball. As he grew up, he was always so proud of his brothers and sisters; often talked about them when we would run into each other. He also loved his father, Pablo De Leon and was often with him. Most importantly, Lupe will always be honored in my heart for being a great and wonderful father to his daughter; he loved her and took care of her with so much love, patience, and understanding. His wife was a blessing to him for always being there for him and his children. He will be missed. He is reminder of God's love for being the man God created him to be of service to his father and the rest of his family. Never once heard him complain about anything; always offering a word of encouragement, love and support when I would talk to him about my loses.
