Obituary of Vicki Lou Wilson
Please share a memory of Vicki to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vicki Lou Wilson, 58, of San Marcos, passed away July 12, 2020, with her family by her side, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Vicki is survived by her parents, Lewis and Erlene Myers, sisters Martha Miller and Marilee Cornforth, and her wonderful children Jesse Myers and Kaylee Wilson. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Vicki was accomplished at the art of compassion. There was never a time she would turn someone in need away. She knew what it meant to be without and that experience made her a stronger person. Her door and arms were always open to friends and family in need of respite and care.
Vicki believed food could heal the soul and she would put her heart into everything she would cook for someone. Her enjoyment over simple things like cheese and crackers or appetizer plates would make everyone want to eat it all. How could you not try it when she would make it look so amazing!
She was skillful at the art of grace. When she would be hurt by friends or family she never held a grudge. When given a choice she took the high road. Sometimes she took the scenic route to get there, because she loves to travel but she always seemed to make it there somehow.
Vicki loved her family with all her heart. She accepted everyone exactly the way they were, no judgement, unless you were driving slow in the fast lane, then you were probably judged. Her biggest wish in life was to see her kids happy and safe.
Last but not least Vicki was a believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She understood she was saved and had a place in heaven waiting for her. She knew she lived and played hard and would come sliding into the grave sideways saying “Peace Out”, and she knew she could do this peacefully because she would be met on the other side with the kind of open arms that she always showed everyone in her life.
It was Vicki’s request to be cremated with no services, in one last consideration for her friends and family all over the states. She will be remembered in all our shared meals, animal photos, humorous sayings, porch times, car rides, trips to beautiful destinations, holidays and helping hands!
