Arturo “Art” Esquivel, of San Marcos, Texas, died on August 24, 2021, at the age of 58 surrounded by family. Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, camping, gardening, antiquing, and cooking. His brisket and pastries were always a hit at family cookouts, which he always attended with his beloved Blue Heeler, Hank. Art was an outdoorsman who found his niche cowboying and ranching. Art had a heart of gold and treated everyone with dignity and respect. He was honest, caring, compassionate and always helped and put others before self. He was looking forward to overcoming his illness and going camping in New Mexico and to a NASCAR event or two; however, our Good Lord has greater plans for a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Art’s radiant, peaceful, comfortable and fearless demeanor in his final hours was testimony to his strong and unwavering belief in God, his Son and the Holy Spirit. Art is survived by his loving mother, Victoria; his sisters Dora Esquivel, Norma Ramos, Olivia Duran (Raymond) and Rachel Esquivel; brothers Candelario “Buick” (Cindy), Armando “Joe,” and John as well as countless other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Candelario Esquivel, Sr., his sister-in-law Nora (Joe) and his best pal and loyal companion, Hank, who died earlier this year. He will be deeply missed by all of us who knew and loved him. We are grateful to all his family and friends who prayed for and supported Art and our family during his illness. DUE TO COVID-19 ...
