Obituary of Pedro Alvarado Jr.
Please share a memory of Pedro to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Pedro Alvarado Jr., age 83, resident of Kyle, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
Pedro was preceded in death by his parents: Pedro Sr. & Vicenta Alvarado; sisters: Susie Mendoza and Anita Reyes; granddaughter: Naomi Elizabeth Martin.
Pedro Alvarado Jr. was a man of God who loved and served Jesus.
For many years he was an Evangelist in the film ministry where he would travel all throughout Texas showcasing Christian Films in local churches and in tent revivals. This was the ministry that God gave him. He had a passion for reaching the lost for Jesus. Our father believed in giving and supporting missions as well as giving to Israel. He instilled in us the importance of giving to the mission field, he said “they are paving the way for us, as they go to places no one wants to go”. Some of our fondest memories of our parents was seeing them open their home to passing missionaries and or evangelist. If they were in need of anything, our parents would accommodate them. Whether it was for a place to stay for the night, or to provide a meal, our parents did so with love. When they would go on their way, our parents would provide enough food and money for them to reach their next destination. In seeing this example of our parents, they taught us to give to others in need, to pay our tithes, to pray without ceasing but most importantly to read our bibles, they said “it was food for our soul, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the weapon you need to defeat the devil”. This is the very reason that some of his children continue with his legacy today in supporting missionaries and evangelist around the world and as well as supporting Israel. He always told us “You can never out give God” and he’s right!!
We cannot mention our Dad without mentioning our Mom, as they were a team for the Lord, she will be the one to carry the torch now. As she constantly reminds us, we are in an Army for the Lord and there are no cowards in God’s Army and she is right. To her, her children say “Mujer Pentecostes Sigue Tu Marcha”
Our dad, will be greatly missed, but we know that we will see him again. It’s not goodbye but see you later.
His favorite verse was -
And he said, unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15 KJV
