Obituary of Ismael Barrera III
Please share a memory of Ismael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Ismael Barrera III, age 52, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
Ismael was born on July 16, 1969, in San Marcos Tx, to Ismael Jr. & Candy Barrera. He was a proud father of 5 girls, and his one and only son, Gavin.
Ismael was a hard and devoted working man. He worked at the San Marcos Daily Records in his younger years, and worked at Chunk Nash and Larry Chapman for quite awhile. He finished his working career at Quality Hardwood Floors where he gave 19 years of his life to. There he met some great men and built brotherly friendships with all who came to know him. He took pride and joy in his work, He even did his beloved San Antonio Spurs flooring and many other gyms to say.
Ismael loved traveling and making memories with his children but let’s not forget the love he had for his music.. Rock, Tejano, and country were always his go to genres. Being a drummer back in his days always had him beating to the music playing at the time. He loved walking the beach and soaking up the sun while he was there. Anyone & everyone who came across him was dying of laughter from endless jokes & his fun personality.
The love he had for his grandchildren and the love they had for their Papo will never fade. The radiant and genuine smile he had every time they came around each other was and will forever be heartwarming. His legacy will stay alive and be remembered through each one of his current and future grandchildren.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
