Please share a memory of Gabriel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Gabriel Urrutia, age 48, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Gabriel is preceded in death by his daughter: Enez Urrutia; maternal grandparents: Guillermo & Jacova Rodriguez; paternal grandparents: Florentino Sr. & Juana Urrutia; Step grandparents: Alejandro & Amelia De la Cruz and favorite uncle: Willie Rodriguez.
Gabriel was a father of 5, 3 boys and 2 girls & a grandfather of 5 as well, all girls. He loved fishing a lot, he loved it so much him & his brother were just fishing Tuesday from 7am to 10pm. He’s been a mechanic since he was a kid he always loved working on cars, my dad was an amazing man he always wanted to help & he never told anyone no , no matter if he was sick or not. He loved his family dearly, his family was everything that’s what he told me, he always told me “you don’t need friends your cousins are your friends” always told me family is everything. He was always there for his kids, he never missed a birthday party or even a small bbq. I remember for my 20th birthday no one showed up & I was crying, he came to me & said “look around you mija, this is all you need” he always appreciated the small things & never took anything for granted. He was real close with his mom as well , he was with her everyday & took her everywhere, you can ask anyone who knew him, they would say he was a mama’s boy. He was a good person all around with a big heart. It hurts us a lot to have to say goodbye, it hurts me even more to have to write my dad’s obituary, but he taught me to be. Strong, he taught me as long as I have my family everything will be okay. My dad will be missed dearly every day for the rest of our lives
He is survived by his sons: Elijah Cortez, Daniel Aguilar and Elias Cortez; daughters: Emelia Urrutia and Gabriella Urrutia; mother: Isael De la Cruz (Albert); father: Florentino Urrutia Jr. (Celia); brother: Feliciano Urrutia; sister: Matilde Urrutia; grandchildren: Lexis, Adelina, Aameria, Aaliyah and Aviana; mother of his children: Pricilla Cortez; and with other family members and friends.
