Obituary of Arthur Quintana Sr.

Please share a memory of Arthur to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Arthur Quintana Sr., age 68, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents: Joe Sr. & Fidela Quintana; brothers: Willie Quintana, Joe Quintana Jr. and Johnny Quintana; sisters: Lupe Longoria, Lilly Quintana, Helen Hernandez, Betty Diaz and Carol Jaquez. Although taken from us too soon, our father was such a kind loving generous soul he was definitely one of a kind. His shining humorous spirit lit up our world like no other. Every moment with him was precious. Our father would make the simple moments we spent together priceless. Like the times we'd go out to eat my dad would have us all laughing so hard including the servers! Daddy had a joke for every situation which made every moment spent with him, memorable. Each and every one of us here was touched my our father and that has bound us together. To realize that our time together is over is incredibly heartbreaking but I know that we gave my dad as much happiness during his time here on earth as he gave to us. Family was everything to him and I couldn’t talk about my dad without without talking about the person he lived for most, my mom. My parents had an amazing relationship that lasted 50 years and without a doubt it could have lasted another 50. To see many of our loved ones here today, in light of this heartbreaking moment, it warms our hearts and I know that my dad will continue to live on in us and that he will never be forgotten. And that we will continue to live and love life the way that he would have wanted us to. If my dad were here today, I’m not sure what he would say, but I know what he would want us to do. He’d want us to to be strong, do what makes us happy, stick together and go forward in life to achieve all the things he knew we could. My grandpa was one of the kindest person I have ever known. He would give you the shirt off his back or the last meal in his house if you needed it. He was an intelligent man who worked hard for as long as he was physically able to and managed to do so even when he wasn't. He never judged others or criticize others beliefs. He would nod his head and say something like “to each their own.” He really meant that… I will miss him so much. The pain is unbearable. But like he wanted more than anything, i will keep moving forward with my hopes and dreams. Aside from my parents, he was one of the few people who knew me my whole life. It’s surreal to think that he will no longer be here. I am so very blessed and honored to have had him as my grandpa for 25 years and I will treasure all the memories that I have with him. My grandpa was always there for me when I needed him most. 888888 He was the first person to get to me when I was attacked by a dog at the age of 4. He was the one who took the training wheels off of my bike and told me to “just ride” as he pushed me through his yard before letting me go on my own… He was the first person to get to me when I had my first car accident. At any moment I needed my grandpa, he was always there. My grandpa knew that I wanted to become a doctor. He instilled in me that I can do anything I set my mind on. Anytime I saw him he would ask me about school, remind be that I am capable, and make plans for me to “fix him” one day… if only that day came sooner. Thank you for your love popo, I will tell your stories, share your lessons, and reminisce about our memories together. I will continue to reach for my goals like you wanted me to and become that doctor that you always knew is be. I’ll love you forever grandpa.
