Our beloved Sostenes Rivas Jr., age 61, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
Sostenes is preceded in death by his parents: Sostenes Sr, & Paula Rivas; brother: John Paul Rivas; sister: Carmen Rivas, Antonia Rivera and Maria Elena Castanieda.
He is survived by his son: Sostenes Rivas III (Alma), Esteven Rivas and Carlos Rivas; daughters: Jessica Longoria and Christina Rivas; brother: Jesus Aldolpho Rivas; sisters: Paula Rivas, Santos Pineda (Vicente), Agroda Rivas, Yolanda Carmona, Zenona Lopez (Andres), Annette Prise (GARY) and Elsie Martinez-Angeles (Joe); grandchildren: 14; great grandchildren: 2; with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins..
Visitation will begin from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Los Angeles Funeral Home ... 300 Cheatham St. ... San Marcos, Texas. Morning visitation will begin at 8:00am, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Los Angeles Funeral Home with a Chapel Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Juan Cemetery in Reedville, Texas.
Serving as Pall Bearers: Andres Lopez Jr., Vicente Pineda, John Paul Prise, Gary Prise, Manuel Vargas III and Mark Anthony Zuniga.
