Our beloved Francesca Contreras, age 94, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, August 21, 2023. Francesca is preceded in death by her loving husband of 69yr.: Antonio Contreras Sr.; parents: Miguel & Maria Hernandez; brothers: Juan Hernandez and Candelario Hernandez; sister: Julia Trelles. I have several stories to tell about MOM, but first I’m going to talk about how mother loved little babies and kids. So when she saw a little baby she would go up to him or her and say I love you. Children really touched her heart. She also loved Tejano music and dancing the cha cha cha. Mom really kept us straight. She was nice until we got her mad then she would do the mommy duties which was discipline, but that’s where I came in being a terror at times. Mary Ann did the same so you can say that we kept her on her toes. When we were very young we took the occasional trips to San Juan and we would also go as a family to Canyon Lake to swim and Barbecue. And I cannot forget to mention her favorite foods being Lockhart sausage and Herbert’s chalupas with chili. Great memories we will cherish. Mom also made sure we went to church and just like Dad would always say “do well in school.” She also loved her granddaughters Kayla and Kelsey. Mom you will be missed but we know you are with the angels now. Rest In Peace. She is survived by her son: Antonio “Tony” Contreras Jr. (Kathy); daughter: Mary Ann Contreras; brother: Mike Hernandez; grandchildren: Kayla Contreras and Kelsey Contreras; and with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Recitation of Holy Rosary will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at St, John the Evangelist Catholic Church ... 624 E. Hopkins St. ... San Marcos, Texas. followed with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 3:00 p.m. A Memorial Service to be celebrated at a later date.
