Mary Ann Natal Quintero, 82, of San Marcos, Texas passed peacefully on August 25, 2023 in the arms of her children and family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ann was born in Kenedy, Texas on November 8, 1940, to Pete and Mary Ann Natal, She was the eldest of 10 brothers and sisters that grew up on a local family ranch. A lifelong parishioner of St. John Catholic Church where she devoted her time to teach Catechism for 28yrs. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mentor, educator, friend but most importantly, a woman of GOD. Graduating from San Marcos High School, Mary Ann attended Southwest Texas State University before building a career of 30 plus years of teaching in the San Marcos School district. This is where she brightened many lives of her special needs students and anyone around her. Her cheerful smile and generous, loving heart touched everyone with her presence, known best to the community as Mrs. Q or Mamma Q. Mary Ann met her love, Robert, and built a life together for 64 years where their love for each other would last for generations to come by raising seven children to whom she was dedicated all her life. They also spent their time with family and many friends along the way Mary Ann also worked at Hillside Manor, opening her heart where she provided private nursing care to the elderly. She most enjoyed Bible Study, Crafting (known best for her homecoming mums), journaling, bingo and fashion. She lived her life by her favorite quote, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love” Mary Ann will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. & Mrs. Pete B. Natal Sr.; brothers: Mike Natal Sr., Guadalupe (Robert) Natal, Alonzo (Al) Natal and Raymond (Super) Natal Sr.; paternal grandparents: Guadalupe & Anita Baquera Natal; maternal grandparents: Alonzo & Abelina Perez. Survived by her husband of 64yrs.: Robert D. Quintero; sons: Robert C. Quintero Jr. (Patricia), Pedro Quintero (Yvonne), Joseph Rudy Quintero (Agustina); daughters: Linda Q. Machado (Ronnie), Sylvia Quintero, Natalie Taylor, Roxanne Q. Garza (Angel) and Nancy Q, Segura (Adrian); 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brothers: Lt. Colonel Pete M. Natal, USAF, retired, Jesse Natal and Charlie Natal; devoted sisters: Abelina Natal and Yolanda Natal; and with many nieces, nephews including her longtime friend, Sally Lopez Machado. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2023 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at St, John the Evangelist Catholic Church ... 624 E. Hopkins St. ... San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 31, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church ... Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, Texas.
