Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Daniel Rangel, age 83, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 25, 2023. Daniel was preceded in death by his daughter: Linda R. Calvin; son Jose Rangel and parents: Pablo Sr, & Francisca Rangel; brothers: Juan Rangel, Samuel Rangel and Pablo Rangel Jr.; sister: Lydia R. Carrizales. Our Dad led a very simple full life, with his greatest joy being his family and his pride and joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed sitting outside in his chair waving to everyone that passed by and occasionally they would stop and visit with him. He had quite the sense of humor and would make you laugh with the stories he would come up with or just reminiscing with stories from back in the days. He enjoyed the occasional trip to the “Marketa” to eat some Lockhart Sausage and when we were young after eating there we would drive back and pass through Maxwell, Texas to get ice cream. He enjoyed listening to music and in his younger days he was quite the dancer. He especially enjoyed going fishing, he did not eat fish but he loved to catch them. So many memories we will hold in our hearts and cherish forever. Dad our heart hurts for you but we find comfort in knowing you are at peace and no more pain. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the soul of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. He is survived by his wife of 62yrs.: Maria R. Rangel; daughters; Terry Garcia (Joe Louis), Alice Rangel and Anita Childers; sons: Andrew Rangel (Yvette) and David Rangel; sisters: Janie Martinez and Petra Garcia; grandchildren: Joshua Olmos (Jessica), Joseph D. Garcia (Laura), Marissa Garcia, Jermaine Calvin, Reggie Calvin (Ashley), Naomi C. Jones (VeeJay), Daniella Gonzalez, Madison Hernandez (Jacob), Mathew Hernandez, John Michael Reyna, Anissa Reyna and Andrew (AJ) Rangel Jr.; great grandchildren: 6; and with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
