Obituary of Evangelina F. Saucedo
Please share a memory of Evangelina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Evangelina F. Saucedo, age 83, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, November 10, 2023.
Evangelina is preceded in death by her husband: Antonio “Tony” Saucedo Sr.; son: Richard Jason Saucedo; parents: Jose & Romana Falcon; 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Evangelina, was woman whose presence touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Evangelina, born in Dripping Springs and a longtime resident of Kyle, was not just a part of a large family of 2
sisters and 8 brothers; she was an amazing heartbeat of that family. Growing up on a ranch, she learned the
values of hard work and perseverance while laboring in the fields alongside her parents and siblings, picking
crops in various states. In the 1950s, amidst the fields, she acquired skills that would define her
independence — learning to drive a tractor and truck.
Her life took on a new and beautiful chapter when she married the love of her life, Antonio C. (Tony) Saucedo
Sr. Their union lasted for an incredible 50 years, during which they created a loving home in San Marcos,
Texas, and raised six wonderful children.
For over 57 years, Evangelina devoted herself as a Nurse Aide and Certified Med Aide, leaving an indelible
mark on places like Care Inn, Hillside Manor nursing homes, and Redwood Springs Assisted Living. Her
vocation wasn’t just a job; it was a reflection of her compassionate nature and her heart of gold. She truly
loved caring for people.
Evangelina’s talents extended beyond the medical field. A skilled seamstress, crocheter, cook, and gardener,
she found joy in creating and nurturing. As a Den Mother for the boys Cub Scouts, she supported her children
in every endeavor, from little league football to bowling, girl scouts, cheerleading embodying unwavering
encouragement.
Her kitchen, a place of warmth and delicious aromas, bore witness to her culinary mastery. She not only
cooked for her family but extended her culinary love to friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to
cross her path. Her creativity also flourished in crafting, and her creations adorned homes with love and care.
Despite her petite stature, Evangelina possessed a larger-than-life personality, marked by strength,
determination, and courage—qualities that defined her final nine years, where she fought with resilience until
the end.
Our beloved mom had an extraordinary capacity for love, always putting others ahead of herself. Her children
were her top priority, and her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. Every visit
from them brought her immeasurable joy, and her house echoed with the love and blessings they carried.
Today, we feel the weight of sorrow at her physical absence, but we find solace in the knowledge that
Evangelina is no longer in pain. She has found peace, resting in Gods memory, awaiting His Kingdom. As we remember her, let us carry forward the legacy of love, kindness, and faith she leaves behind. Until we meet
again, dear Mom, your memories will remain etched in our hearts.
Love You Forever, Mom.
She is survived by her sons: Antonio "Tony" Saucedo Jr. (Dora), Jimmy F. Saucedo (Norma) and Roland F. Saucedo; daughters: Brenda Luevano (Alberto) and Evangelina “Tiny” Ybarra (Jose); brothers: Joe Falcon and Jessie Falcon Sr.; sister: Elida Saavedra; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
