Anita Mercado-Castillo, born on January 28th, 1942, in Lockhart, Texas, peacefully departed from this world on March 29th, 2024, in San Marcos, Texas. She is predeceased by her three children: Virginia Castro, Josie Castro, and Gloria Castillo-Barrientos; parents: Ynocancio & Juana Mercado; her siblings; Martin Mercado Sr., Mercario Mercado and Cuca Deleon; her granddaughter: Micaela Castro and joins them in eternal peace. Throughout her life, Anita shared warmth and kindness, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Her gentle demeanor brought comfort to her family and friends. In her passing, Anita Mercado-Castillo leaves behind cherished memories that will be treasured by her loved ones for generations to come. Anita was the beloved wife of Cornelio Castillo and a devoted mother to her children: Mary Ann Longoria (Victor), Virginia Bravo (Ernest), Michael Castro Jr. (Yvette), Juan Castro Sr. (Amparo) and her son-in-law Julio Barrientos. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren: Jose, Anita, Ricardo, Angelica, Jimmy Jr., Gabriel, Josie, Gordo, Sean, James, Sammy, Samantha, Carlos, Micaela, Angel, Mikey, Naomi, Alyssa, Michael-Aidan, JJ and Isis; great-grandchildren: Avery, Nadia, Aidan, Ricardo Jr., Jordan, Makayla, Lia, Julie, Romeo, Alexis, Avril, Jaydrein, Zaiden, Kayson, Neveah, Brandon, Aaliyah, Mandie, Julie, Aubrey, Baby Angel, Levi, Noah Lee, Adrian Jr., Zayden, Addie, Evelyn, Mila, Tristan, Cynthia, Aaliyah, Izaih, Izaoh and Danni: great-great-grandchild: Arilena. She also leaves behind two sisters: Yolanda Ybarra (Tony) and Cale Rodriguez.
