Ramon Jesus Rodriguez, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at his home in San Marcos, Texas on April 28, 2024 surrounded by his family. Ramon is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Juaneta Rodriguez. Brothers, Isabel “Chavelo” Rodriguez, Gilbert Rodriguez and Ruben Rodriguez. Sister, Maria Elena Martinez. Ramon was born in San Marcos, Texas on May 27, 1945 to Juan and Juaneta Rodriguez. He was the second oldest of 7 brothers and sisters. Ramon loved making his grandchildren laugh. He loved reading western books, watching old western movies and playing dominoes. He was employed at Austin Road for over 30 years. Once he retired, he enjoyed starting new home projects and picking, shelling and selling pecans to keep busy. Ramon remained strong up until the end and will be missed deeply by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucy, daughters Cindy Acosta (Ben), Sandra Estrada (Paul), Paz Guardiola (Chris). Including his grandsons, Aaron Estrada (Melissa), Benjamin Acosta, Ryan Estrada, granddaughters, Adrienne Acosta Hicks (Nathan), Giovanna Estrada, Noelia Guardiola, Genesis Guardiola & Amarissa Guardiola. Along with 3 great grandchildren, Jrue Sanchez, Damian Corral & Azeliya Corral. He has 2 surviving sisters, Gracie Campos & Gloria Rodriguez Valdez. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm – 9:00pm, Thursday, May 2, 2024 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Los Angeles Funeral Home, 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos, Texas. Morning visitation will begin at 8:30am, Friday, May 3, 2024 at Los Angeles Funeral Home followed by Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00am at St. John’s Catholic Church, 624 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, Texas. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Cemetery, 19106 San Marcos Hwy in Martindale, Texas. Serving as Pallbearers: Ben Acosta, Benjamin Acosta, Paul Estrada, Aaron Estrada, Ryan Estrada and Chris Guardiola.
