Obituary of Estella Afanador

Our beloved Estella Afanador, age 92, resident of San Marcos was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Estella was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55yrs.: Pedro Afanador; parents, David & Solidad Serrato; brothers, Dave Serrato, Sam Serrato, & Abraham Serrato; and sister, Beatrice Serrato.

She is survived by her daughters, Estella Cortez, Yolanda Picasio, & Velma Perez; sister, Lucy Serrato; brothers, Rudy Serrato, & Gene Ybarra; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and with numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 3:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., at the Los Angeles Funeral Home on 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church….624 E. Hopkins,  San Marcos, Texas.  Rev. Father Jairo Lopez will officiate.  Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in, Martindale, Texas.

Serving as Pall Bearers: Pete Picasio,Ernest Cortez, Tony Cortez Jr., Robert Picasio, Wally Picasio, Javier Perez, and Emilio Perez.
