Obituary of Ascencion G. Rivas

Our beloved Ascencion G. Rivas, age 91, resident of San Marcos was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

Ascencion was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67yrs.: Rafael Rivas; sons, Ralph Rivas and Daniel Rivas; great grandson, Mason Miles; parents, Serapio & Concepcion Garcia; and brother, Paulino Garcia.

She is survived by her son, Joe Rivas & wife Isabel; daughters, Gloria Galvan & husband Lupe, Maria Louisa Pastrano & husband Jesus, Angie Balandran, Irene Rivas Reedy, and Linda Gonzales; brothers, Juan Garcia, & Narciso Garcia; grandchildren, 18; great grandchildren; 28; great, great grandchildren 2; and with numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 3:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 8 , 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., at the Los Angeles Funeral Home on 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church…624 E. Hopkins...San Marcos, Texas.  Rev. Father Brion Zarsky will officiate.  Interment will follow at San Pedro Cemetery in, San Marcos, Texas.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons: David Rivas, Jose Angel Galvan, Daniel Pastrano, Jeff Balandran, Aaron Rivas, and Christopher Rivas.
