Obituary of Eloy E. Sanchez Jr.

Our beloved Eloy E. Sanchez Jr., age 72, resident of San Marcos, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 12, 2019. 

Eloy had a passion for learning. Even though he only finished the 8th grade, he eventually earned his GED, received an Associates Degree, and then a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Texas State University. 

If you ever had a conversation with Eloy, you most likely walked away learning a thing or two. He was full of knowledge and loved to share his experiences.

If you had a problem, he wanted to listen and offer you advice.

If he found out you had a passion or a dream, he most likely encouraged you to pursue it.

One of Eloy's other passions was writing poetry. He became a published author of 2 poetry books in 2016. 

Eloy also had a love for music. He tinkered with the guitar, keyboard, piano, and accordion. He especially enjoyed sharing his musicality with his grandchildren. 

His other interests included gardening, fishing, playing tennis, and watching movies.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Eloy Sr. & Nicolasa Sanchez, and brother, Zacarias Sanchez.

He is survived by his daughter, Dora Ann Rodriguez (Emilio); son, Jeffrey Sanchez; sisters, Maria Elena Hoehn (Jim), and Yvonne Garcia (Rudy); brothers, Victor Sanchez, and Jose Luis Sanchez (Micaela); grandchildren, Phillip Sanchez, Madison Rodriguez, and Myli Rodriguez 15 nieces & nephews and with many more loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m.-9:00pm, Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Los Angeles Funeral Home, 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos, Texas. with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Morning visitation will begin, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 8:00am with a Chapel Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Los Angeles Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Father John Boiko wiill officiate. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in San Marcos, Texas.
